5 Tips for Holiday Stress Relief - Tip #4

Christmas shopping can bring fear into the bravest of hearts.  It can be an enjoyable task or a terrible one, depending on how you tackle it.  Read on for some tips to get you through with a smile on your face.

Shopping
Shopping is often the most time-consuming, stressful, and expensive undertaking of the season.  Make the process easier on yourself by creating a detailed budget, outlining how much you’ll spend on each person and what gift(s) you want to buy.  Next, shop around for the best deals available.  Keep in mind the price of gas and value of your time, and consider doing some shopping by catalog or internet.  Try to only shop through websites and catalogs that offer free shipping or other special discounts and promotions.

If you must shop in stores, avoid peak hours.  Rather than shopping Saturday afternoon, try to hit the stores early on a Saturday morning or better yet early on a week day morning.  You will get the best deals in a people free environment.

Tomorrow we will feature our last tip on holiday stress relief with the topic of holiday baking.  See you then!
